CASE STUDY: BizforClimate

BizforClimate is growing into a powerful business-led force for climate action in Manitoba—and beyond. We partnered with them to create a video that does more than explain their mission. We set out to tell a story that moves businesses from awareness to commitment, that shows both urgency and possibility, while lifting up the voices already driving change.

Understanding the Narrative

At the core, BizforClimate is about collective responsibility: businesses stepping up together to reduce emissions, advocate for strong climate policy, and set a new norm in how commerce intersects climate.

The narrative needed to do more than list what BizforClimate offers. We wanted viewers to understand why it matters—what’s at stake for businesses, communities, and the environment—and how they can be part of change.

We also wanted the story to feel both local and systemic: grounded in Manitoba landscapes, business stories, and people, while pointing toward global climate imperatives, policy levers, and paths forward.

The Storytelling Concept

We build the video around real people: business owners who have signed the Climate Action Pledge, founders, leaders already engaging—highlighting what drives them, their motivations, the concrete actions they are taking.

Visually, we juxtapose:

  • Natural environments (open skies, forests, water)

  • Pollution and the destruction of our natural world
  • Scenes of business operations and meetings

  • Moments of signing, decision-making, planning

Tone and pacing go from reflective urgency to hopeful invitation: opening with the climate challenge, then showing what actions look like now, then calling on the viewer to join.

Results and Impact

The video delivers more than messaging—it aims to move people.

  • It gives BizforClimate a strong tool to amplify the Climate Action Pledge: helping attract new signatories, sponsors, and partners.

  • It raises visibility: building trust and legitimacy by featuring authentic business voices and showing real momentum.

  • It sharpens narratives that will support policy conversations—bringing clarity to what needs to change, and showing that many businesses are ready.

  • It inspires internal action: for businesses watching, it shows that action is possible—and that joining is part of leadership, not risk.
